    About Rovers Return Dog Rescue

    Every dog deserves a chance.

    Our Story

Hi, I'm Sandra Murray, founder of Rovers Return Dog Rescue.

Rovers Return was created from a simple belief: every dog deserves a chance, no matter how scared, unwanted, injured, abandoned, or difficult to catch they may be.

We are a grassroots, boots-on-the-ground 501(c)(3) rescue based in Riverside County, California, specializing in helping stray, abandoned, and lost dogs in underserved communities.

Our rescue is built on compassion, patience, and real-world experience. We know that every dog has a story, and many simply need someone willing to slow down, understand them, and fight for them.

Whether we are setting traps late at night, helping reunite a lost dog with their family, coordinating emergency fosters, transporting dogs to safety, or advocating for better solutions for homeless animals, this work is deeply personal to us.

Rovers Return is more than a rescue. It is a promise to the dogs that have nobody else.

    Our Focus

    Community Support

We provide food, resources, spay/neuter support, and assistance to help dogs and the people who care for them.

    Medical Care

We ensure dogs receive the medical attention they need to heal and thrive.

    Rescue & Transport

From late-night rescues to emergency transports, we do whatever it takes to get dogs to safety.

    Foster & Adoption

We work tirelessly to find loving foster homes and forever families for our deserving dogs.

    Education & Advocacy

We educate, advocate, and raise awareness for better solutions for homeless animals.

    Unlike Traditional Rescues

We do not have a large facility. Our mission is to keep dogs out of overcrowded shelters whenever it's safe to do so.

We stabilize dogs in the community through feeding support, spay/neuter, medical care, rescue networking, and education, while working tirelessly to find safe placements and second chances.

    Every dog has a story.

Many just need someone to fight for them.

Together, we can give them the second chance they deserve.

    To the dogs

    that have nobody else.

    To the community

    that supports us.

    To the volunteers

    who make it possible.

    To the families

    who open their hearts.

    To the future

    we build together.

Thank you for being here, supporting our mission, and helping us give these dogs the second chances they deserve.
